The issue occurs due to a data processing error that can occur when the problematic characters are used within the first 7 characters of a SKU value.

Logging associated with this issue may include the following error message:

String or binary data would be truncated. The statement has been terminated.

This issue affects creating and updating purchase records through any interface, including the web UI, business adapters, and procurement data spreadsheet uploads.

Mitigation

Avoid using more than 2 occurrences of the problematic characters in the first 7 characters of SKU values on purchase records.

Fix status

There are no plans to address this issue.
