The AdminStudio application is failing to activate through the FlexNet Publisher Server.
Upon checking the FlexNet Publisher Server mvsn log, you find the following:
10:00:00 (mvsn) Ecomms: Encrypted Communication disabled10:00:00 (mvsn) TCP_NODELAY NOT enabled10:00:00 (mvsn) Listener Thread: running10:00:00 (mvsn) Starting diagnostics port listener thread (DPLT)10:00:00 (mvsn) Starting diagnostics output thread (DRQT)10:00:00 (mvsn) DPLT: running10:00:00 (mvsn) DRQT: running10:00:00 (mvsn) DPLT: waiting for logger to connect10:00:00 (mvsn) 'ASIDE' from <username>@<servername> refused10:00:00 (mvsn) Not master server, checkout attempt of 'ASIDE' from <username>@<servername> refused
Attempts to restart the system and services to no avail.
Solution
Method #1
Check that the configured FlexNet Publisher Server Ports are open. This applies for both the FlexNet Publisher Server and Vendor Daemon.
Method #2
In the license file, C:\Program Files (x86)\Flexera Software\FlexNet\Licensing Server\licenses\mvsn, change the file first line from something like this:
SERVER this_host ANYVENDOR mvsn mvsn/mvsn
to
SERVER this_host ANY PRIMARY_IS_MASTERVENDOR mvsn mvsn/mvsn
Then restart the services - lmadmin and FNPLicensingService.exe - for the changes to take effort OR reboot the server
