Symptoms

When trying to run lmgrd or lmutil on Ubuntu, you may receive the following error:

Cause

This is caused by Ubuntu requiring an additional LSB package.

Workaround

To get around this problem, you can download the package from the Ubuntu website. Or you can call a shared object to allow you to run lmgr/lmutil.

From the terminal, type:

- /lib/ld-xxxxx.so (xxxx<, is the version of ld in your lib folder) <path to utility> <utility>

So for the lmgrd, you would type:

- /lib/ld-xxxxxx.so ./lmgrd

On Ubuntu you can also install the lsb package using the following command:

sudo apt-get install lsb-core
