Symptoms

When building a suite Project the following error may be seen during build time:

ISDEV : error -7239

Cause

This error is known to be caused when the suite project contains a package which has a file name longer than 63 characters.

Steps to Reproduce:

Rename a package file with the following name: TheMaximumNumberOfCharactersThisCanContainis63SoHereAreMoreThanThat.exe
Create a Suite Project and add the .exe as a package
Build the Project

Resolution

The only current workaround is to rename the package so it contains less than 63 characters.

This issue has been raised as a bug with workorder number : IOJ-1724095
A fix will be included in a future version of Installshield.
