This article desribes where to check when a customer gets the error of "Permission to perform this operation was denied".Synopsis
The error is recorded in VMWareInventory.log underC:\ProgramData\Flexera Software\Compliance\Logging\InventoryRule\<UUID>
<UUID> is a folder name that given as a UUID form.
Discussion
Please check the following points:1) ICMP is enabled on VCenter machine (The beacon machine can "ping" to the VCenter machine)
2) The user name and the password are correct and stored in the password store in the beacon.
3) The user can access to https://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/mob (mob is case sensitive in vCenters on non-Windows devices)
4) vimService.wsdl is viewable at https://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/sdk/vimService.wsdl
