Question

When I use the Release Wizard to build my InstallScript MSI project, I cannot deselect the Create installation launcher (Setup.exe) check box in the Windows Installer Service dialog. Why do I have to include a setup.exe?

Answer

InstallScript MSI projects require the InstallScript engine to be installed. When authoring an InstallScript MSI Project, the Setup.exe file is required because the InstallScript engine must be installed by this file when the installation is launched.
