Any unused license key which is not required can be deleted. This is useful to remove incorrect keys and to free up license key quota. There are three instances when a license key can be considered unused:
- License Key Not Utilized by Installation
- License Key is Not Entered in Any Saved Filter as an Exact Match
- License Key is Not Targeted in Any ReachOut Campaign
These three instances will be discussed below.
License Key Not Utilized by Installation
A license key can be considered unused when the license key is not utilized by an installation. (The install count should be 0.)
If the install count of a key is greater than zero, that key cannot be deleted, therefore the checkbox for those keys will be greyed out.
If an installation that is using a key goes through a license change process in the future, that key’s install count decreases, and when it reaches 0 it can be deleted.
License Key is Not Entered in Any Saved Filter as an Exact Match
The license key can be considered unused when it is not entered in any saved filter as an exact match.
In such cases, attempting to delete the license key will return a summary indicating that it could not be deleted, along with the details of the saved filter containing this key. Based on this information, you can either edit the saved filter to remove the relevant license key or delete the saved filter entirely.
License Key is Not Targeted in Any ReachOut Campaign
The license key can be considered unused when it is not targeted in any ReachOut campaign (entered in filters as exact match).
If you try to delete this license key, in the response you will get a summary that it could not be deleted and the ReachOut campaign details where this key is targeted as exact match are listed.
Edit the ReachOut campaign and remove the relevant license key or delete the ReachOut campaign to be able to delete that license key from the registry.
After performing the deletion operation, you will get a popup such as:
