In the FlexNet Manager for Engineering Applications (FNMEA) web UI, the License Server and Vendor Daemon may both display a status of Up, but the HostID is not visible, and the license file may not appear in Licenses > License File Summary, even though the license file is present in the \DATA\ directory.
This issue can prevent the Activity tab and other parts of the web UI from displaying license details correctly.
Symptoms
You might experience one or more of the following:
- The web UI shows the Vendor Daemon and License Server as Up, but the HostID is blank.
- The License File Summary page does not show the license.
- The license file is present under
\DATA\, but FNMEA reports that it cannot be found. - Agent log files show no issues and indicate all data was read successfully.
- The Admin modules server.log and flexnet.log include entries similar to:
ERROR [manager.actions] [default task-53] License file not found:
\\SUP-FNMEAREPORT\data\rep\lic\chunks\1014T33810_FNMEAOlympicsAdmin\counted.lic
java.io.FileNotFoundException:
\\SUP-FNMEAREPORT\data\rep\lic\chunks\1014T33810_FNMEAOlympicsAdmin\counted.lic
(The system cannot find the path specified)
This problem often occurs when the vendor daemon cannot read the license file correctly, usually because the license file contains duplicate VENDOR or DAEMON lines.
To resolve the issue:
- Open the license file stored in the
\DATA\directory. - Look for multiple
VENDORorDAEMONlines. - Remove any duplicate entries.
- Save the file.
- Reread the license file as you normally would, either with lmtools or using the "lmutil lmreread" commands.
- In the FNMEA web UI, reread the license file again to refresh the display.
After removing duplicate vendor daemon entries and rereading the license file:
- The license and HostID display correctly in the web UI.
- The Activity tab and reporting features work as expected.
- FNMEA reads and presents license data without errors.
