An internal vulnerability has been recognised in the organization and the vulnerability is reported against (in this example) Netgear Nightawk with Source IP address of 192.x.x.x
How are we able to trace the device name or the person owning the device so we could identify and mitigate this vulnerability?
Snow Device Manager 6.x
- If the Application is known, the best way to find the owner of the device or the device name affected by the application vulnerability is by going to Applications.
- Then, search for the application then double-clicking the application.
- The new window will show you the list of devices that has the application installed.
- The IP address for this scenario is not the best filter to find the device or owner since IP address is dynamic in nature and this can be re-assigned to another device the next day.
