View the vCPU‑based spot percentage
To view the correct spot percentage, check the vCPU Ocean managed resources lifecycle percentage in the Ocean dashboard. This percentage shows the actual ratio of spot vCPUs compared to the total vCPU capacity in the cluster.
A small difference between the displayed value and the configured spot percentage is expected. Ocean often performs bulk scale‑ups, which temporarily launch nodes from the same node pool and lifecycle type. This can cause minor variations in spot ratios before the cluster stabilizes.
How Ocean applies spot percentage during scaling
Spot percentage affects scale‑up activity only.
When Ocean scales up, it considers the defined spot percentage to decide how many spot nodes to launch.
During bin packing and scale‑down actions, Ocean does not enforce the spot percentage. These actions focus on maintaining efficient resource usage rather than lifecycle balancing.
