Scenario Outline
In this scenario the Microsoft 365 (M365) data is coming from Snow Integration Manager (SIM) and not directly through using the new SaaS area of Snow Atlas.
This means that the M365 data from the Snow Integration Manager will appear in the Snow Atlas GUI here:
/sam-core/applications/microsoft365/
and NOT
saas/applications
Data will be handled and stored slightly differently using this method.
Prerequisites
For this to work you will need:
- Snow Integration Manager - Required to be installed and configured for the M365 Connector.
- Snow Extender - Required to take the SIM data and send it to Snow Atlas
Steps to configure
- In the Snow Extender Configurator, navigate to SLM API.
- Name: Can be anything you like as a reference.
- Enabled: Needs to be ticked
- DNS Name: You can use * as a wildcard , or add your specific DNS name.
- Port: This port number can be either http or https, but will need to not conflict with anything else. ( do not use the same port number as the SLM Web, as an example )
- NOTE: This unique port number will also be used in the Snow Integration Manager in the later steps.
- Click Save.
- Next, open the Snow Integration Manager.
- You will need to configure the M365 connector at this point, following the Userguide .
- API Endpoint: Add your API address. You can open a web browser and browse to your SLM address and add "/api" to confirm if it is correct. In this example the SLM web gui is on "http://localhost"
- Port: Here you will need to add the same port number you defined in the Snow Extender Configurator.
- Username+Password: Your credentials for the API User account created in the Snow License Manager Snow Management and Configuration Center (SMACC).
- Run a Test Connection on the SIM and then click OK.
- Next, either:
- Set the M365 connector to run on a schedule
- OR manually aggregate the connector.
- Once the SIM has aggregated the M365 connector review the SIM log files and Extender log files:
- The default locations are here:
C:\Program Files\Snow Software\Logs\Snow Integration Manager
C:\ProgramData\SnowSoftware\Extender\Logs
- Here is an example SIM log:
- In this Log file find the SLM API ImportID
- This is useful to note for the Support Team if you have any issues with the data not showing in Snow Atlas.
- Confirm that there is a success message in this log to ensure there were no faults in the SIM aggregation.
- A message like "Import of Microsoft 365 data was successful" is a good indicator there were no SIM errors.
- Next look at the Snow Extender Log files.
- In the Extender log notice that the same SLM API ImportId has been found by the Extender and will be processed into Snow Atlas.
- After waiting a few minutes for data processing, Log into Snow Atlas and navigate to /sam-core/applications/microsoft365/ to review your SIM data.
- NOTE: This process can also be followed for the Adobe SaaS Connector.
