Deployment via Intune seems to be failing according to reporting in Intune.
Example:
It seems the agent installer is returning wrong response code to Intune and this causes Intune to report wrong status.
During deployment InTune checks the path: /applications
If the (newly installed) software is present in that path it will change the status accordingly.
However, the snow agent is not installed in /applications
It is installed in a system path: /opt/snow
This is because Microsoft InTune is designed to deploy user applications and not system applications (such as our agent).
As a result the status never changes.
Note: The issue is not related to missing field names or metadata in the package
Snow does not recommend or support any specific software deployment tool (such as SCCM, InTune, ...) to install the agent.
However, it will be possible to deploy the package with most common solutions.
We have investigated whether Snow can alter this behaviour from within the package but it's not possible because the issue/limitation is within InTune.
Microsoft is aware of this limitation and recommends working around it via shell scripts.
They advise to "wrap a script around" the package (in this case our agent) to report the status back correctly.
