Open the stateful node configuration

In the Flexera console, go to Elastigroup > Stateful nodes, select the stateful node, and then select Actions > Edit configuration.

Edit the configuration in JSON mode

Go to Review, switch to JSON, and select Edit mode.

Prevent reverting back to Spot

In the strategy section, set revertToSpot to never.

Confirm the preferred lifecycle

Make sure the preferredLifecycle parameter is set to od.
This ensures the node runs as an on‑demand virtual machine.

Recycle the stateful node

Recycle the stateful node so Flexera launches the VM as on‑demand.

Verify the VM lifecycle

Confirm that the stateful node is not running on a Spot VM.

Delete the stateful node from Flexera

• Go to Edit node

• Select Delete node

In the Delete stateful node window, deselect all options.
This ensures the VM and its resources are not deleted in Azure.

Verify the VM in Azure

In the Azure portal, confirm that the virtual machine and its associated resources are still running and accessible.
