After installing the Snow Inventory Agent, a scan is scheduled to be run at the time specified in the snowagent.config file. For example, if the schedule is set to 09:00 daily, the agent will run at that time. However, if you change the time to 11:00 daily in the snowagent.config file and restart the Snow Inventory Agent, the scan may still occur at 09:00 the next day.
Snow Inventory Agent for Windows 6.x
Currently, the configured agent scan schedule is only applied in these instances:
- When no
snowagent.dbexists. - When a schedule (daily/monthly) is executed.
To change the scheduled scan time, you can:
- Remove the
snowagent.dbfile: After updating the schedule in thesnowagent.config, delete thesnowagent.dbfile and restart the Snow Inventory Agent Windows service. This will force the agent to create a new schedule based on the updated configuration. - Wait for the next scheduled scan: After changing the schedule in the
snowagent.configfile, allow the next scan to run at the previously set time. Once this scan completes, the subsequent scans will follow the new schedule. - Request a new agent: Ask for a new agent to be created with the updated scheduled time. Install this new agent package on the machine as you normally would.
The snowagent.db contains information related to the next scheduled scan date and is typically located at:
C:\Program Files\Snow Software\Inventory\Agent\data\snowagent.db
