You may need to temporarily stop Ocean from scaling nodes or performing recoveries. This can help you stabilize a cluster during maintenance or troubleshooting. You can stop both autoscaling and recoveries in Ocean, then restart them when you're ready.
-
Disable autoscaling
Turn off autoscaling in the Ocean cluster. This immediately stops new scaling actions. -
Stop recoveries for specific nodes
You can stop recovery actions for a node in the Flexera console:-
In the Flexera console, go to Ocean and open Cloud Clusters.
-
Select your cluster.
-
Open the Nodes tab.
-
Select the node you want to exclude from recoveries.
-
Select Actions, then choose Detach.
-
-
Detach new nodes in your cloud provider console
If any new nodes were already created, open your cloud provider console (such as AWS) and detach those nodes to prevent Ocean from managing or recovering them. -
Restart autoscaling and recoveries when you're ready
When you want Ocean to resume scaling and recovery operations, re‑enable autoscaling in the Ocean cluster.
