- Check that this mismatch of version also exist in the database using the following query:
select * from SnowLicenseManager.dbo.tblSystemInfo
-Check the version in SLM GUI = "9.19"
-Check the version in Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Snow Software\Snow Update Service\Installed Products\SnowLicenseManagerEnterpriseEdition = "version 9.20 update 498"
-Check the availables versions to be install in SUS:
-Check the Updatehistory.xml (C:\Program Files\Snow Software\Snow Update Service\Resources) looking for inconsistencies:
Summary of version inconsistencies:
SLM GUI: version 9.19
SUS: It does not show version 9.20 available, since it reviews the Updatehistory.xml and there it shows a successful installation on the first attempt, even when it failed and it tried to roll back.
Regedit: SLM version 9.20 update 498
Updatehistory.xml: First the file shows the update to 9.20 successfully and in the next attempt it failed, which does not make sense because it already installed that version successfully.
In order to run the update again we will need to modify the version where the incorrect one is found, which in this case is 9.20. If you do not feel comfortable with making changes to the windows registry please contact Snow Support for assistance.
- Snow Update Service - Installed Products - SnowLicenceManagerEnterpriseEdition. Change the regedit to the current version 9.19, note that you can get the UpdateRevision number from the Updatehistory.xml or contact Snow Support for assistance.
- First save a copy and then delete (fix) the incorrect section within the updateHistory.xml file (C:\Program Files\Snow Software\Snow Update Service\Resources). In the example below we delete what is marked in the red box:
- The update is now available in SUS
NOTE: Please stop all the Snow services before doing the update to 9.20.0
