Use the Spotinst SDK with AWS Lambda

Title

You can use the Spotinst SDK in an AWS Lambda function to interact with Flexera's services. Because the SDK isn’t included in the default Python package index (PyPI) for Lambda, you must create and upload a deployment package that includes the SDK and all required dependencies.

Instructions

Install the Spotinst SDK and any other dependencies you need in a local folder that matches your Lambda runtime version.
Add your Lambda function code to the same folder. Make sure the SDK folders and your function files sit at the same directory level.
Compress the folder into a ZIP file.
In the AWS Lambda console, upload the ZIP file as your deployment package.
Update the Lambda function timeout to 60 seconds to allow enough time for API calls.

Outcome

After uploading the ZIP file, your Lambda function can import and use the Spotinst SDK just like any other Python library.
