Summary

This article discusses improvements to the authentication of the FlexNet Code Insight REST API's added to FlexNet Code Insight 6.12.1 under reference SCA-2538

Symptoms

The JWT token that was requested on usage of the FlexNet Code Insight 6.X REST API's could use a token for a user with any user-role. This differs from the public API's which require the Scripting Administrator role.

Resolution

An enhancement request to add the verification to the REST API's based on the users permissions was raised under reference SCA-2538. This enhancement was added to version 6.12.1 with the verification using the same permissions as a user would be required to have in the UI. An example of this is the requirement for users to be a System Administrator to be able to create a new project via the REST API's
