This article talks about a build time issue when performing a command line build, whereby the build displays the build usage and results in exit code 201. The following is displayed at the end of the build log:

EXITING: 201

When an InstallAnywhere project with a specific build configuration is built from the command line, the build may fail to complete and results in Exit Code 201. When this happens, the build command shows the build help page, and inserts the above information at the end of the build log.

For example, assume a project has a build configuration named ?admBuild? in the Project Build->Build Configurations tab. If one builds this configuration from the command prompt, as shown below:

build.exe <projectfile> admBuild

the above issue will result.

If the configuration name is changed to something different like ?Buildadm?, then using the command line build to build the specific configurations work successfully without any error.

Similarly if the Build Configuration name is changed to ?windowsBuild?, then the command line build

build.exe <projectfile> windowsBuild

results in the error 201.
