Synopsis

During a silent Installation the following error may be seen:

"Execution failed with exit code -2147213312"

Discussion

This error has been seen to occur due to a corrupted or missing .iss file.

Resolution

We can pass /r switch, which should create the silent install response file and then use the –s swtich to look for the silent response file as system account needs a setup.iss (answer/response) file to write to / read from.

Example

Setup.exe /r /f1”C:\temp\Install.iss”
