Summary
Configuring FlexNet Publisher to Work Through a Firewall
Synopsis
How can FlexNet Publisher be configured to work through a firewall?
Discussion
To allow access through the firewall, a port must be assigned to the lmgrd and to each of the vendor daemons. Access must then be granted for those assigned port numbers.
NOTE: The port numbers selected for the lmgrd and for each of the ports must be different.
Additional Information
Example:
SERVER licserv1 000103417c78 17000
VENDOR demo /path/..demo port=17005
Provided that the implementation of FlexNet Publisher working through a firewall was correct, the above example will run the license server at ports 17000 and 17005. For the clients to access the license server, they must point to the lmgrd at 17000.
