Console connections in Snow Commander can either use WebMKS to open a console session in users' web browsers or VMware Remote Console which requires the standalone, Windows-only application to be installed.
When using WebMKS for direct console connections to ESXi hosts without Certificate Authority signed certificates installed, you must add an exception in your browser. Otherwise, the browser will not allow the connection to the untrusted resource. Chrome and Firefox will prompt you to add an exception, but Internet Explorer 11 does not allows you to add an exception.
To resolve this, you must import the CA Root certificate for your ESXi hosts' certificates:
- Click Continue to this website (not recommended).
- Right-click the page background and select Properties.
- Click Certificates.
- On Certification Path tab, select the CA Root certificate in the Certification path pane and click View Certificate.
- Click Install Certificate.
- On the Certificate Store page, select Place all certificates in the following store and click Browse.
- Enable Show physical stores.
- Expand Trusted Root Certification Authorities and select Local Computer.
- Once you have completed the Certificate Import Wizard, a security warning is displayed, click Yes.
