App Portal retrieves the time zone offset from Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) using a specific query. This offset is then applied to display local times correctly across the App Portal website and in email notifications.

App Portal determines the client’s time zone by querying the SCCM database for the device's current time zone setting. It uses the following SQL query:
SELECT CurrentTimeZone0, Name0
FROM v_GS_COMPUTER_SYSTEM
WHERE Name0 = '<machineName>'
- How the time zone is used
When App Portal renders timestamps, either on the website or in email notifications, it applies the retrieved time zone offset to the UTC time, ensuring correct local time representation. - How to verify the offset
If verbose logging is enabled in App Portal, the user log file located at:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Flexera Software\App Portal\Logs\UserLog
will show the detected time zone offset. Look for a line such as:
Time Zone is -420
