Hostids like the MAC address can be modified by end users so that license may be used out compliance. Is it possible to protect an FlexNet Publisher application so that it will be used within complience on a virtual machine?

Discussion

Starting with FlexNet Publisher v10.8.8 and v11.6.1,

LM_A_PHYSICAL_ETHERNETID (for client)
ls_allow_physical_ethernetid_only (for server)

are supported to disable usage on a virtual machine.

By default, an FlexNet Publisher server and client can be used on virtual machine. As of FlexNet Publisher 10.8.8 & 11.6.1, the aforementioned properties can be changed to modify this behavior.
