How to configure FNMS to support load balancing multiple web application servers

When setting up multiple web application servers behind a load balancer in FlexNet Manager Suite, it is essential to ensure configuration consistency for proper functionality. This configuration allows secure session handling across all servers in the load-balanced environment.

On each FlexNet Manager Suite web application server, navigate to:

<INSTALLDIR>\FlexNet Manager Platform\WebUI\Web.config
```
Open the Web.config file and locate the <machineKey> element. It appears similar to the following:

<machineKey validationKey="DF23423DABE3810....." />
```
Copy this <machineKey> element (including its attributes) and ensure that it is identical on all web application servers by pasting it into their respective Web.config files.
Repeat the same process for the SAP portal configuration to enable SAP portal support via the load balancer:

<INSTALLDIR>\FlexNet Manager Platform\SAP\Portal\web.config
```
- Copy the <machineKey> element from one SAP portal web.config and apply it to all other servers running the SAP portal.

Outcome:
Consistent machine keys ensure that cookies and session state can be encrypted and decrypted across all load-balanced web application servers, maintaining seamless user sessions.
