An Oracle NDI file is a specialized inventory file that helps Flexera Support investigate Oracle Database software recognition issues, including installed Oracle options and packs. Attaching this file to a support case helps speed up analysis and resolution.
Unlike standard NDI files, Oracle NDI files aren’t stored automatically on the target machine. You must generate them manually using the FlexNet inventory agent.
Generate an Oracle NDI file on Windows
- Open Command Prompt as an administrator.
- Change to the FlexNet inventory agent directory. On a 64-bit system, the default location is:
C:\Program Files (x86)\ManageSoft\Tracker
- Run the following command:
ndtrack -t machine -o Upload=False
- Wait a few minutes to allow the inventory process to complete.
- Collect the Oracle NDI file from the following directory:
C:\ProgramData\ManageSoft Corp\ManageSoft\Common\Uploads\Inventories
The file name ends with:
..(Oracle).ndi.gz
- Also collect the
tracker.logfile from:
C:\Windows\Temp\ManageSoft
Generate an Oracle NDI file on non-Windows platforms
- Open a terminal window.
- Change to the FlexNet inventory agent directory:
/opt/managesoft/bin
- Run the following command:
./ndtrack -t machine -o Upload=false
- Wait for the inventory process to complete.
- Collect the Oracle NDI file from:
/var/opt/managesoft/uploads/Inventories
The file name ends with:
..(Oracle).ndi.gz
- Collect the
tracker.logfile from:
/var/opt/managesoft/log
