Follow the steps below to import data directly from your Active Directory LDAP into the organizational structure instead of using an org.xml file.
Instructions
- From the Reporting > Organizational Structures, select Create Organizational Structure.
- Create an organizational structure consisting of four levels: Org Structure name, Company, Department, and User.
NOTE: For a user-based organizational structure, the last level should always be a user and should be mapped to "sAMAccountName."
- Select the checkbox to the left of the organizational structure, then click the Add LDAP association button to access LDAP Association and Mapping. From LDAP Association and Mapping, choose the corresponding LDAP domain name.
- Select the LDAP domain name highlighted in blue and provide a username in the Attribute Retrieval User ID field. Then, click on Retrieve Attribute List for User.
- Use the dropdown menus in Organizational Structure Mapping to select the data to be mapped. Once the required fields are mapped, click on Save Mapping.
- Once you’ve saved, provide the username and click on Test Mapping Data for User.
- Once you’ve verified the mapping is accurate, save the configuration.
- To initiate the import of LDAP data, select the checkbox to the left of the organizational structure and click on Import LDAP data. This will populate the RPTDW_User table with the LDAP user data.
