Prior to FlexNet Operations 2016 on-premises, the attribute for the terminal server usage was different. With FlexNet Operations 2016 R3, it's possible to specify one, more, none. In the old versions, it was only on (for one or many) or off. Is there a way to modify the GUI in a way that the old attributes can be set to avoid having to change your license models (perhaps a customization?)

In FlexNet Operations 12.0, the only terminal server attribute was ALLOW_TERMINAL_SERVER, which didn?t restrict the number of connections. So it was on or off.

By FlexNet Operations 12.5, we added support for ALLOW_ONE_TERMINAL_SERVER as well. Did you have the attribute set in 12.0? If not, it should still be off. If you had selected ALLOW_TERMINAL_SERVER in 12.0, it would now appear as allowing many, and you now have the ability to select ALLOW_ONE_TERMINAL_SERVER which should not be set on any migrated license models.

When upgrading FlexNet Operations On-Premises from pre-12.7 to 12.7 or later, we used to have to fix this, because it was left blank sometimes after the upgrade script ran. Things have improved with FlexNet Operations 2016 and above, but in case there?s still a gap with your implementation, here?s a workaround:

Since this value is a custom attribute, it?s actually rather difficult to fix in the database directly. The ?trick? is the following:

UPDATE [dbo].[PROD_LICENSE_MODEL] SET STATUS=?bo.constants.states.draft? WHERE NAME=?Name of the License Model?;

Then restart FNO (important because FNO can cache the fact that the license model is deployed) and then go and make the critical edits required. Then Deploy the license model.
