For a Basic MSI project, an application does not appear in Add/Remove programs after it is installed if the Windows Installer property ARPSYSTEMCOMPONENT is set .

Discussion

A application is not displayed in the Add/Remove programs if a property called ARPSYSTEMCOMPONENT is set to 1.

This property can be set from the command line, a transform, a custom action, or the Property Manager. As long as it is set before the RegisterProduct action, the application is not displayed.
