Discussion

InstallShield has support for creating one or more Windows user accounts in groups without using logon dialogs. In a Basic MSI project this requires using specific Windows Installer properties for the user account, group, and password of each account that you want to be set up at run time.

If the requirement involves a programmatic or Windows Installer based approach to remove the account on uninstall this requires a System Admin or other member of the IT group to negotiate the steps and have proper permission to remove a Windows user account from the client. For example, if you are properly authorized you could use the following to facilitate account removal:

NOTE: It is always recommended you keep a backup of all your data before the process.

1. Type User Accounts in the search bar and click Enter.
2. Click on Manage another account.
3. Click on the User account you wish to delete.
4. Click on the Delete the account.
5. In the prompt you can either click on keep files (which will keep a back up of all your files) or delete files (which will delete all the files associated with this account).
6. Click on Delete Account.
7. Close Control Panel.

Workaround

A programmatic approach may be possible using an API like System.DirectoryServices.AccountManagement in .NET.
