Symptoms

The Spider setups reports missing execute privileges on msdb database.

Cause

The msdb database contains the stored procedures that are necessary to create the session state database needed.

Resolution

Grant execute rights to the msdb database for the connecting user.

Additional Information

In case the setup fails to create the session state database, it will place batch files in the installation directory of the instance (e.g. C:\Program Files\Spider\CoreServer_xx\Utilities\SessionState). These can be used to create the session state database by hand.
