Open the stateful Elastigroup

• Go to Elastigroup, then select Groups.

• Select the stateful group.
  
  

Set the spot percentage to zero

• Choose Actions, then Edit configuration.

• Open Instance type, then select Advanced.

• Set Spot vs on-demand percentage to 0 percent.

• Select Next, then Review, and choose Update.
  
  

Recycle the stateful instance

• Open the Instances tab.

• Select the managed instance.

• Choose Actions, then Recycle.

• Elastigroup launches a new on‑demand instance in AWS.
  
  

Disable stateful persistence options

• After the on‑demand instance is running, choose Actions, then Edit configuration.

• Go to Review, then switch to JSON edit mode.

• Set all persistence options to false, for example:

    "shouldPersistBlockDevices": false,
    "shouldPersistRootDevice": false,
    "shouldPersistPrivateIp": false
  }

• Save your changes.
  
  

Detach the instance from Elastigroup

• Go to the Instances tab.

• Select the on‑demand instance.

• Choose Actions, then Detach.

• Confirm these settings:

  • Terminate instances is not selected

  • Decrement group’s capacity is selected

The instance detaches and continues running in AWS.
