Symptoms

When you are building a QuickPatch project from the command line, the following error may occur:

Cause

If you create a QuickPatch project in one version of InstallShield and then upgrade to a later version, you need to migrate your QuickPatch project to the newer version before you can build it from the command line. This is because command-line building does not support the upgrading of a QuickPatch project.

Resolution

To resolve this error, open your QuickPatch project in InstallShield and save it. Then you can build your QuickPatch project from the command line.
