"HTTP Error 500.19" error when you browse or a component access IIS website in Windows

This article describes the issue of users or a component browsing an IIS website/resource receive an "HTTP Error 500.19" error message together with a "0x80070006" error code and how to fix it

Symptoms

In FlexNet Manager Suite, you can get 500.19 error when an Agent, Beacon or SAP System accesses an Application Server or Beacon that doesn't have the proper IIS Components installed.

Other scenarios to consider are the following:

You run an Internet Information Services (IIS) 8.5-based web application in Windows 8.1, Windows Server 2012 R2, or Windows Server 2012.
There are many files in one or more of the application folders, and the files are changed frequently.

In this scenario, the IIS worker process crashes. Additionally, users who browse to the website receive an "HTTP Error 500.19" error message together with a "0x80070006" error code.

Resolution

In FlexNet Manager Suite, verify that any Beacon using https or IIS and your Application Server have the following components installed:
