Symptoms

There are cases where the specified icon file specified in the project is ignored and not used for the setup.exe despite the icon file existing in the source path as specified in the project.

Cause

Typically, this is due to how the icon file has been created/saved. Certain applications do not create .ico files in a way that InstallShield can recognize and use.

Workaround

This issue can be resolved by simply re-saving the .ico file in another graphic application, such as GIMP.
