You are not able to compile the MessageBox example from the help file: MessageBox Example

The compiler states: "error L8411: 'MessageBox' : no definition found for function".

Discussion

InstallShield HelpNet articles are expected to specify 'Applies to' project specific information. Therefore, HelpNet articles that are intended to apply to Suite/Advanced UI projects should be identified accordingly.

Suite projects do not use InstallScript the way you may expect. Suite/Advanced UI is a unique project type. To use InstallScript you write script as needed. Functions that can be called by a Suite/Advanced UI action must be prototyped with the export keyword. (This is the same requirement for InstallScript custom actions in Basic MSI projects) and defined accordingly.

In some cases, including the situation involving a MessageBox in a Suite or Advanced UI project there is no native support. To display the message box and as a work around you can use a dll custom action.
