    Release Notes of IA2008 VP1 says the installer can be run on:

     

     

    Windows XP and 2003 Server (32-bit and 64-bit x86, Itanium 2, and AMD-64)

     

     

    So why the installer crashes before the first screen appears?

    Well, it might run on 64 bit systems, but it doesn't say in which mode (32 or 64 bit), does it? By omitting, for instance, that they run in 32 bit-mode only, they can indeed say that they run on XP 64 bit...

    Installer works fine on Windows XP x64 on Intel Xeon.

     

    It doesn't work on AMD Athlon 64 and Intel Pentium.

     

    Could there be another reason for this and not JRE problem?
