Open the stateful node configuration

In the Flexera console, go to Elastigroup, select Stateful nodes, choose the stateful node, and then select Actions > Edit configuration.

Edit the configuration in JSON mode

Go to Review, select JSON, and switch to Edit mode.

Update the lifecycle setting

In the strategy section, change the lifecycle to on_demand.

Example:

}

Save and apply the configuration update.

Recycle the stateful node

Recycle the stateful node so Flexera launches a new on‑demand instance.

Verify the node state

Wait until the new on‑demand instance is running and healthy in the Flexera console.

Delete the stateful node without terminating the instance

Delete the stateful node and select Terminate VM: No.

After deletion, confirm that:

• The stateful node is no longer running in the Flexera console.

• The instance is still running in the AWS console.
  
  

Import the stateful node

In the Flexera console, import the existing instance as a stateful node to create a stateful Elastigroup.
