Summary

You get an Error has been returned by the Mail Service, when attempting to create a new user in the #Administer Operations #Create a User page on a FlexNet Operations (FNO) system.

Symptoms

When attempting to create a new user in the #Administer Operations #Create a User page on a FlexNet Operations On-Premises (FNO) system, the following error message is returned.
Error has been returned by the Mail Service : Unknown SMTP host: schexch; nested exception is: java.net.UnknownHostException: schexch

Cause

This error occurs because the Outbound Mail Server Host is not configured properly for FNO to email the initial password to a new user.

Resolution

Set the correct SMTP server name of your organization to the Outbound Mail Server Host setting in the #Administer Operations #System Configuration page properly. Set the Outbound Mail Account and Outbound Mail Password too if necessary.
