FlexNet Operations On-Premises 2025 R2 is now available for download from the Product and License Center.

This release delivers enhancements to device management, entitlement management, Cloud Licensing Service (CLS) visibility, automation, and user experience, along with security improvements and expanded API capabilities.

    Release Highlights

The key highlights of the 2025 R2 release include:

    • Stronger device and Cloud License Server management, with significantly improved visibility into CLS features, usage, active clients, and license pools, available directly in the Producer and End‑User Portals.
    • Enhanced entitlement and license lifecycle management, including support for much larger bulk upgrades, improved bulk job monitoring, entitlement‑level activation and deactivation, expanded country code support, and more flexible, accurate license email communications.
    • Expanded automation and integration capabilities through enhanced SOAP and REST APIs, enabling more efficient device searches, and configurable event notification payloads.
    • Improved performance and scalability, especially for high‑volume Cloud Licensing Service operations, dramatically reducing processing times for large license updates and mappings.
    • Usability and operational improvements across both Producer and End‑User Portals, including clearer bulk operation retry handling, enhanced role‑based permissions, improved system configuration workflows, and greater transaction visibility.
    • Security hardening and data integrity enhancements, including improved input validation and API restrictions to help protect against injection risks and ensure consistent licensing data.
    • Numerous bug fixes and refinements that improve reliability across installation, upgrade, and day‑to‑day operations.

For full details on all enhancements, configuration options, known issues, API changes, and security fixes, please refer to the FlexNet Operations On‑Premises 2025 R2 Release Notes available on the Revenera Documentation site.

  2. How can I fix the link between a CLS and a account in FNO On-prem?

    Hello,

I currently have the problem that the CLS instance and an account got disconnected in my FNO on-prem instance. Meaning the CLS Server Device still got the link to the account it serves, but the account does not contain the backlink to the CLS server.

This has the effect, that every time a line item that has "Auto Provision" set to true is deployed for that customer, a new CLS Server is created.

How can I fix this issue?

  3. Creating a 'demo' Producer Fails Following the Getting Started Guide

Our parent company is changing, and we need to test swapping out producer identity information in our FNE toolkit artifacts.

However, attempting the "Adding a Publisher and a Publisher Identity", under the Getting started with FNE Setup Exercises: I'm getting the following error:

    '''

[default task-61] ERROR (lfs) [ADMN] Publisher keys not valid.

    com.flexnet.lfs.webservice.LFSFaultResponse_Exception:LFSError:INVALID_PUBLISHER_KEYS

    '''

We have two publishers already defined in our FNO on-Prem instances, but both need to be superseded in the future.

How does one overcome this issue?

Anyone else done this before and had success - with existing publisher identities?

    Thanks all

    -N

    Question with a best answer.

    Best Answer

    Hi @bstenlund ,

Typically token based licensing refers to a consumptive licensing model where a customer purchases a quantity of tokens and then "spends" the tokens to use features/functions/capabilities within a software application.

    Best regards,

    Jim
