Authoring tool has stopped working

Does anyone know how to get around this error message, which stops InstallShield 2013 Express from loading? PC re-start doesn't clear it. I'm using Windows 7. System was working fine until 6 days ago, now comes up against this error every time.

Exact same problem for me with 2012 Express.

2012 Express was working fine yesterday.

A big Windows 7 Pro update occurred this morning when I switched machine on.

Now refuses to run with 'Authoring tool has stopped working' crash.

Have reinstalled 2012 Express, restarted machine etc, no difference still refuses to run.

The problem is probably caused by Microsoft's recent security update to IE (KB 2962872 ). We are actively looking for a resolution to this problem. For a short-term fix and updates on the issue, please see the following sticky in the InstallShield 2014 community forum:
