Manu Mohan asked a question.
I am new to the Revenera Installer Shield. As part of a POC, I would like to know more about how the Revenera Installer Shield can be used in the GitHub CI/CD Pipelines. I have created the .ism project in my local system. Using this project, I can generate the .msi file for my application. But now how can we able to generate the new .msi file based on the new application changes, and this should be done in the CI/CD changes?
Hi @Manu Mohan,
Thanks for reaching out!
First, confirm you can build your project from an elevated command prompt using ISCmdBld.exe (available with both the InstallShield IDE and Standalone Build). Second, once that succeeds, invoke the same ISCmdBld.exe command in a GitHub Actions workflow. For command-line options, see the ISCmdBld parameters in the documentation at the following link:
https://docs.revenera.com/installshield/helplibrary/ISCmdBldParam.htm
When you’re ready, we recommend evaluating InstallShield 2025 R1 to ensure the best fit for your requirements by getting the ball rolling at the following link to a free trial of InstallShield:

We look forward to helping you address any questions or concerns. Thanks!
Hi @Revenera_Ian (Employee) ,
Thank you for your update. I have tried using ISCmdBld.exe in the local environment and it's working fine. I am using Installer Shield 2025 Premier (Eval)
Currently my evaluation version has been expired. Could you able to help me to extend the evaluation version since I am in the POC only. Also, I have noticed that when building the ism, the .exe only be generated.MSI is not getting generated. Is it because of the evaluation version?
Hi @Manu Mohan,
Thanks for your reply.
Yes, you would need a fully licensed copy of InstallShield to build only an MSI.
As far as the evaluation, could you please contact us via the Contact Us Form at the following link?

Then someone on our end will contact you.
Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns. Thanks!
